Nature and much more.. wonders to discover all year round
At the foot of Mont-Blanc, the highest massif in Europe, the summer activities for excellence are trekking, mountaineering and everything related to nature.
The trails of the Mont-Blanc Valley, commonly called the Valdigne by the local population, meet the needs of everyone : from families with children to expert hikers.
There are numerous alpine refuges reachable with easy walks and spectacular are the alpin lakes where the majestic surrounding peaks are reflected. Highlights include the Mont-Blanc Tour, the “Alte Vie” trail, the Balteo path, the balconies of Mont-Blanc, the pastures of the Planaval and Piccolo San Bernardo valleys and the Rutor glacier.
Some ski lifts allow you to reach scenic destinations and a suggestive heated alpine pool.
The Valdigne is not only a paradise for high mountain lovers and also offers other activities: a 9-hole golf course in Val Ferret, the tree-climbing courses of the Adventure Park of Pré-Saint-Didier, the rafting, canoeing and hydrospeed along the Dora Baltea stream, long and relaxing horseback rides, paragliding or hang gliding flights and various mountain bike itineraries.
La Thuile, in particular, offers enthusiasts 16 cross country itineraries between Italy and France for 220 km and 15 downhill and free ride itineraries served by two chairlifts equipped for transporting bicycles at high altitude.
